OC Sportan industry-leading company specialised in the organisation of outdoor sports events, has been confirmed as the new organiser of the International Mont-Blanc Triathlon. Entrusted by the race creators Mont-Blanc Triathlon Club, OC Sport will deliver its expertise across a broad spectrum, including in the general coordination of the event, management of participants, logistics, marketing and communication and the management of partnerships.

Mont-Blanc Triathlon Club, who will continue to provide their support and advice, cited the shared values of the two entities, as well as OC Sport's recognised professionalism, as key factors in their decision to hand over the organisation of the event.

Serge Payraud, President of the Mont-Blanc Triathlon Club, explained: "2020 has torn us apart, 2021 gives us hope! After the immense disappointment that we shared with all the triathletes in love with the Passy site last year, we could not bring ourselves to let the beautiful dream of the International Mont-Blanc Triathlon die. With friendship and emotion, we thought of all those who had launched the first editions. It is their will and their work that made the magic of the event. In order to recapture all these beautiful moments together, we decided to start again, entrusting the organisation to our new partner, OC Sport. With this beautiful, enthusiastic team, who are already experienced in endurance sports, as well as with the support of the Passy city hall, we will be there again on August 21 and 22, 2021 to once again experience the magic of triple effort on the magnificent courses of the Mont-Blanc region!"

Benjamin Chandelier, Director of OC Sport Outdoor Events, is delighted with the collaboration and the new challenge, which aims to preserve the event and make it a reference among French and international triathlons. "We would particularly like to thank the members of the Mont-Blanc Triathlon Club and the city of Passy for their trust. We are particularly keen to promote the event and its majestic setting locally, nationally and internationally, while respecting the playground and the values that have made the event grow, namely sustainable development, diversity and well-being.”

After a hiatus in 2020 marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 17th edition of the International Mont-Blanc Triathlon will take place on August 21 and 22, 2021 and will offer the following race formats:

The event will again take place in the idyllic setting of Lake Passy, with a spectacular view of Mont-Blanc.

Raphaël Castéra, Mayor of Passy, commented on his delight at welcoming the new organisers and for the continuation of this beautiful event. “Passy is an area that is particularly well suited to outdoor sports. From the top of the Fiz mountain range to the plain with the lake where Mont Blanc is reflected, Passy offers a varied area accessible to all. Our small resort of Plaine-Joux offers the possibility to learn to ski with the family in the sun facing the roof of Europe and our nature reserve makes it easy to discover the treasures of the fauna and flora of the middle mountains.

Thanks to the involvement of the club, volunteers and successive municipalities, the International Mont-Blanc Triathlon has become a key event in the local sporting calendar, attracting national and international athletes. The partnership agreed with OC Sport reinforces this ambition by giving us the possibility to continue our support to the competition. Thanks to it, Passy is one of the key sports destinations in the Mont Blanc region.
