Registrations are now open for the 31st edition of La Tour Geneva Triathlon, which will be held September 18th - 19th 2021 in a new magnificent location at the beach of Eaux-Vives on the left bank of Geneva. Seven race formats are on the program, allowing beginners and the more experienced to challenge themselves over the distance of their choice.

The event has been hugely successful in recent years with registrations closing several weeks before the event due to its popularity, and the organisers strongly recommend competitors register early to make sure they don’t miss out.

Benjamin Chandelier, Event Director, is enthusiastic: “We are finally there! We are all very much looking forward to the launch of the 31st edition on the new location at the beach of Eaux-Vives. Our triathlete community will be able to challenge each other on various race formats by participating alone or in relays. We would like to thank all our participants, our volunteers, our partners, our service providers and all the local authorities and administrations for their unquestionable support.”

New place, new courses
The event welcomes a new location this year around the new beach of Eaux-Vives. This oasis in the heart of the city has 400-metres of beach and will offer participants a larger and more comfortable space for their race.
The triathlon was originally held on the south shore back in 1987, and this new location marks a homecoming for the event following its relocation to Bains des Pâquis in 1995, on the right bank.

The participants will be immersed in an exceptional setting, benefiting from an extremely fast course on a closed road in the city centre of Geneva as well as a spectacular view of the Jet d’eau throughout the course.

This year, the participants in the Half Distance and Standard formats will experience a multi-lap swim, or Australian exit. They will exit the water and run a few meters on the shore, before heading back into the water for their second lap.

The bike course has also been modified and is expected to be very fast, with a manageable challenge from the Vésenaz hill; a slight uphill section heading to Vésenaz, where there is the half turn.

After diving into the crystal-clear waters of Lake Geneva and cycling along the harbour, the triathletes will set off on the ultra-fast running course, which will also take them along the left bank to the “Quai de Cologny”.

Each detailed event course is available on the website.

The diversity of formats allows all triathletes to challenge themselves over the desired distance. From the Discovery to the Half Distance race format, everyone can choose to participate alone or in relays (two or three people). Juniors aged 6 to 15 years old will be able to challenge themselves in the Aquathlon or the Youth League.

The Youth League; the next generation of triathletes
For the first time, the event will host the Youth League for the young talents of the

discipline. This format will welcome around 70 athletes aged between 14 and 15 years old and will give them the opportunity to compete on a specially dedicated course.

See you on 18 and 19 September

Registration is now open on the event website. The special entry price is available until 23 June at 23:59 CET.
